“What really matters for success, character, happiness and life-long achievements is a definite set of emotional skills— not just purely cognitive abilities.” — Daniel Goleman. Elucidate. 10 marks

Mentor’s comment-

  • In the introduction start with some key facts related to population trends in the country.
  • For such questions it is very important for one to cover the spatial aspects through the map of India. Start by explaining the population parameters across the country with respective influences of the physiography of that region. Correlated the two factors say, discuss the distribution of population in dry land regions of the country, coastal regions, plateau regions, plains etc.
Give suitable examples, if need be make use of population theories to justify such correlation.
  • You can conclude that the population growth has now moved beyond the factors of physiography and with the coming of technology and other infrastructural facilities population no
more is just the function of physiography.
