What is Confucius famous for? Why his teachings are still relevant in the modern society? (250 Words)

Confucius expounded a system of social and political philosophy. The teachings of Confucius are focused on two interrelated areas: Social Teachings, which deal with the proper behaviour of the individual in society and to his fellow men, and Political Teachings, which deal with the art of governance and the proper relationship of the Ruler to the ruled. He viewed education as central to achieving proper conduct both within Society and in Government.

Relevance in present scenario
Confucius taught that people should have compassion for one another, and to avoid treating others in ways that they themselves would not wish to be treated.
In order to be compassionate, people should avoid self-aggrandizement and be “simple in manner and slow of speech.”
They should practice altruism and self restraint. This teaching is relevant today as due to fast pace of economic growth and globalization, the inherent cultural values and virtues are deteriorating.
The enmity among people are increasing which has in turn led to rise of crimes in the society.
Confucius political beliefs were based on the concept of self-discipline.
He believed that a leader needed to exercise self-discipline in order to remain humble and treat his followers with compassion.
In doing so, he would lead by positive example i.e. leaders could motivate their subjects to follow the law by teaching them virtue and the unifying force of ritual propriety.
This teaching is equally relevant in present scenario as the ethical values such as integrity, empathy, dedication, justice are decreasing in all the government pillars – executive, legislature and judiciary which in turn leading to rise of nepotism, corruption and loss of trust of people in the government.

      Very lengthy paragraphs.
      Points are good.
Examples quoted are relevant and suited to the demand of the question.
Word limit has been breached manifolds.
hence for weak presentation and structuring, deducting marks.
Please go to the 2nd week of July AWE tests and see how certain people frame their answers. They are Kunal Agarwal, Noira Khan, Varsha Chauhan.
Avoid this lengthy paragraph style presentation.

      Answer lacks depth and discussion.
The first part has been discussed in at manner.
But the content in the second part is general, lacks depth and coverage.
      Avoid lengthy paragraphs.
Read the model answer for that 2nd part.

The direction of the answer is decent.
      But the answer lacks content.
These ethics questions are also of 250 words so take your time and space.
Be little more descriptive here and get more points.
Try to enlarge the discussion in the 2nd part on this theme: “This teaching is equally relevant in present scenario as the ethical values such as integrity, empathy, dedication, justice are decreasing in all the government pillars – executive, legislature and judiciary which in turn leading to rise of nepotism, corruption and loss of trust of people in the government.”
      Language and explanation are nice.

      Write better intro.
Good 1st part of the answer.
It is good that you divided the discussion in those sub sections.
The second part needs more points and more depth.
Your direction was good. Try to elaborate those points further.
