1. In the intro, mention the trends in the latest SAS of agriculture households and declining income of Punjab and Haryana on a per hectare basis.

2. In the body, mention the impact of rice cultivation and its implications for these states such as the impact on the water table, damage to the environment, air pollution due to stubble burning etc. In the next part, suggest a shift from paddy cultivation to maize and the creation of a fund to help farmers switch. The other strategy should focus on diversification to fruits and vegetables and a more efficient value chain in not just fruits and vegetables but also in livestock and fisheries.

3. Conclude by mentioning that with these changes Punjab can then shine again on the nutritional security front with sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture.

      Nice attempt, introduction is fine..you can also mention some data for value addition. Issues mentioned are fine, mention environmental angle too..stubble burning etc

      Steps to increase income are fine, there is scope for writing a bit more elaborately as this is a 15 marker. In diversification you can mention fruits , vegetables , livestock and fisheries too. Also, some positives of the recent farm laws can be incorporated here. Forward-backward linkages, better marketing, better price discovery through contract farming etc all can be mentioned.

      Conclusion is fine, keep practicing. 🙂

      Introduction is fine, after that you have directly jumped to the steps to be taken. First, mention what are the issues due to which ranking is low. Also, mention the environmental impact of mono-cropping in Punjab. Impact on the water table, damage to the environment, air pollution due to stubble burning etc should be mentioned.
      Then mention the steps that need to be taken. Points mentioned are fine in that part. 15 marks questions should be covered a bit holistically. Knowledge and content is fine.

      In steps that need to be taken, augmenting income part should be the core of the answer. You can pick up positives from the farm laws and mention here, better storage facilities of crops after harvesting, reducing price of input, better price recovery of produce through contract farming, improved agro-marketing etc all can be mentioned. Other points are good, use of diagram is also nice.

      Conclusion can be better, don’t start new points in conclusion. Locusts part you can avoid, as that is a specific problem and not a structural issue. Mention it in issues if you want too (attack of pests etc). You can talk about achieving the goal of doubling farmer’s income in conclusion.

      Introduction is fine but a bit generic, ‘shows the plight’ is very broad, you can back it up with some data or trend.
      Issues part is fine, you have covered most of the points.
      In solutions, you can elaborate a bit more, especially how to augment incomes part- since this is a 15 mark question, there is scope. You can pick up positives from the farm laws and mention here, forward-backward linkages, reducing price of input, better price recovery of produce through contract farming, improved agro-marketing etc all can be mentioned. Points related to environment are fine, steps to solve the problem of stubble burning can be incorporated.
