  • In the intro, mention that despite witnessing rapid economic growth over the last two decades, 90% of workers in India have remained informally employed, producing about half of GDP.
  • In the body, mention the reasons for informality such as excessive state regulation of enterprises and labour, also mention that political and economic reasons operating at regional level, lack of adequate growth etc. In suggestions mention that along with current efforts what is needed is a greater capital investment and increased education and skills are imparted to its workers.
  • Conclude by mentioning the need to focus on formalisation from a perspective other than a fiscal perspective.

      Hello,

In introduction, 99 % is not the correct figure, you can mention more than 90% according to ILO.
Reasons are fine but very generic points, mention excessive state regulation, host of labour laws throughout so many years, non-identification of low productive industries ,sub-contracting and outsourcing agreements etc
You can mention other points after these.
Way forward is fine, you can integrate it with some recent developments such as new labour laws, GST implementation etc
Also focus on education and skilling is required.
      Write a concluding statement.
      Keep practicing.

      Please mention reference ID.

      Decent attempt.
Introduction is fine, mention the name of the report or organization such as ILO when you are writing facts, it will be better.
In next part, reasons mentioned are fine, however, some important reasons such as excessive regulation, host of labour laws throughout years, culture of sub-contracts and outsourcing, problems in identification of low-productive industries and ensuring their smooth exit etc should also be written.
Way forward is good, you can integrate that part with some recent efforts at formalisation(passing of labour codes, GST implementation, DeMo to root out black money etc)
      Conclusion is good.
      Keep practicing. 🙂
