Q.2 The structural changes in the region and the breakdown of the old certitudes demand that India reboot its ASEAN engagement. Delhi has its task cut out in explaining its vision of the Indo-Pacific, reassuring the region on Delhi’s membership of the Quad, and intensifying its own bilateral cooperation with the ASEAN states. • In the intro, mention the recent engagement of the PM of India with the leaders of ASEAN.
  • In the body, mention changed geopolitical scenario in the Indo-Pacific region with assertive behaviour of China, rising internal challenges of ASEAN, India’s withdrawal from RCEP, apprehension about India’s membership of Quad which is viewed as a challenge to ASEAN’s centrality.
  • Conclude by mentioning that India needs a comprehensive effort to promote a better Asian understanding of its policies and the new opportunities they present for deeper economic and political cooperation.

Nice answer. Presentation and content both are good. In issues, you should also mention the Sino-US rivalry and the prospects of economic decoupling between both countries making ASEAN an arena of geopolitical confrontation.
Other points are good, you have covered most things. Introduction and conclusion are fine.
      Keep writing. 🙂

Introduction is fine. In the body, you have written from India perspective, first mention the structural changes among the region itself, points are fine, subheading can be better framed. Mention the Sino-US rivalry and the prospects of economic decoupling between both countries making ASEAN an arena of geopolitical confrontation. You can also India’s membership of the Quad that is viewed as a potential challenge to ASEAN centrality.

After that mention what can India do to address these challenges which you have done in way forward. Some key points are missing, need to recalibrate Act East policy, assuring ASEAN of its centrality in the region etc should be mentioned. Other points are fine.

      Keep writing. 🙂
