  • In the body, first mention the shortcomings in the existing laws like the unorganised Workers’ Social Security Act, 2008. In the next part, suggest the need for adopting the recommendations of the National Commission for Enterprises in the Unorganised Sector (NCEUS) which involves a universal registration mechanism based on self-declaration, social security package, comprehensive law, adoption of Recommendation 202 on social protection floor etc, increasing the investment in social protection etc. Also mention the Supreme Court judgement on the issue.
  • Conclude by mentioning the urgent need to recognise the enduring crisis for the workers, as well as the crisis for the economy and provide the right to social security, embedded both in the Indian Constitution and international covenants.

      Your knowledge and content is good on the topic, try to improve the structure a bit.

      Introduction is good. After that write some immediate effects of the pandemic on the migrant and informal workers- reverse migration, shutdown of industries, wage cut, indebtness, increase in poverty, minimal government support, marginalized section impacted more etc
      Then write issues with the existing social security architecture in India- here the points you have mentioned are fine, mention that NCEUS recommendations have not seen the light of the day. Add points like low investment as percentage of GDP by govt, exclusion error from social security schemes.

      In suggestions, mention need of adoption of Recommendation 202 of ILO on social protection floor, also mention the recent 29 June Supreme Court judgement on the issue.
      These points will add more value than your own-made points, so try to incorporate.

      In introduction, defining migrant workers is too basic, you can do without it. Instead,after writing about covid, write some immediate effects of the pandemic on the migrant and informal workers- reverse migration, shutdown of industries, wage cut, indebtness, increase in poverty, minimal government support, marginalized section impacted more etc. This will link your answer to the 2nd part.

      Points are fine about faultlines in existing schemes- mention that NCEUS recommendations have not seen the light of the day. Add points like low investment as percentage of GDP by govt on social security, exclusion error from social security schemes like NFSA, aadhar etc.

      In way forward, mention need of adoption of Recommendation 202 of ILO on social protection floor, also mention the Supreme Court judgement here.
      These points will add more value to the answer, so try to incorporate.

      Introduction is fine, no need to mention government schemes just after that, first address what the question is asking. You can mention some schemes in way forward and conclusion.
      After writing about covid, write some immediate effects of the pandemic on the migrant and informal workers- reverse migration, shutdown of industries, wage cut, indebtness, increase in poverty, minimal government support, marginalized section impacted more etc.

      After that mention issues and suggestions seperately, SC has given some suggestions on way ahead, those can be mentioned in way forward. In issues you can add points like exclusion errors in NFSA, aadhar etc. Rest of the points are fine.

      In way forward mention SC suggestions, also mention what is recommendation 202 of ILO here only.
      Conclude by mentioning the need to recognise the crisis and ensure a dignified life for our working population.
