Q.2) Notwithstanding the cataclysmic changes in the global and regional politico-security environment, India has been able to maintain amicable ties with Russia. Yet, recent events point to divergent perspectives of the two countries. Comment. (10 marks)

      Introduction is fine. Instead of describing the relationship as ‘give and take’, you can point that Russia has been an all weather friend.

      In recent cooperation with Russia, you can give example of BRICS, SCO, India’s involvement in Russian far East.

      Also, bring the China-Pak angle in recent divergences.
      You can mention it is tough for India to resist a tilt towards west in the face of Chinese agression(Galwan valley, CPEC, indo-pacific hegemony can be mentioned here).
      Also you can mention India’s apprehensions with growing Russia-Pak cooperation.
      Also change in Russia’s stance towards China can be mentioned- from rivalry during Cold War period to bonhomie now, with both the countries considering US as common rival.

      Rest of the points are fine, you have written what is the geopolitical structure right now but reasons are missing. Above points will fulfill that gap.
