  • Discuss the salient features of the act, where it is applicable, which constitutional articles have been amended etc.
  • Give arguments in favour of the act- reduces poverty, inequality, open for all.
  • Give arguments against the act- reservation meant for socially disadvantaged, arbitrary eligibility limit, 50% reservation cap.
  • Conclude in a balanced way saying that although 103rd amendment act has many advantages it poses a difficult judicial examination than usual.

      First part of the answer is fine, you have explained well.. but mention amendments to article 15, 16 of the constitution..also it is open to all not just general category.
      In second part, you have diverted a bit… the question is not whether it will eradicate poverty, question is whether reservation should be used for poverty alleviation. It was brought in to correct historical injustice and for social empowerment..remove casteism etc…not for poverty alleviation..so you have to argue on these lines.
      Also mention some drawbacks for example..limit is fixed at 8lpa..not clear on what basis..even for OBC creamy layer starts above 8 lpa..
      Mention of 50% limit is good..this might open Pandora’s box for more reservations.
      Positives have been mentioned by you.
      Take a balanced view in conclusion as the constitutionality of this amendment is still under scrutiny.

      Introduction is good, features of the amendment are also fine.(in point 1, mention economically backward otherwise it will be confused with OBC)
      Arguments in favour of reservation as poverty alleviation is also okay.
      But after that take a balanced approach- the court is still to examine constitutionality of the act, better to be balanced.
      Mention that reservation was not envisaged to be a poverty alleviation tool..it was introduced to correct historical wrongs, remove casteism and improve the condition of socially disadvantaged
      Also limit of 8lpa is very arbit..same limit applies for OBC creamy layer even though they are socially backward too.
      Mention Indira Sawhney judgement.
      Cut short on the last part..that is other measures..you can mention some of those points as way forward.

      Good attempt..intro is fine..especially mention of DPSP.
      In features mention about the amendments to articles 15 and 16.
      Other points are fine.
      Also it is open for every poor below 8 lpa,not just upper caste..so no need to mention that specifically.
      Positives are mentioned well.
      However, the debate around this amendment is mainly about whether reservation can be used to alleviate poverty..it was not meant for that initially..t was introduced to correct historical wrongs, remove casteism and improve the condition of socially disadvantaged.
      Also limit of 8lpa is very arbit..same limit applies for OBC creamy layer even though they are socially backward too.
      You need to mention these things to take a balanced view..as the constitutionality of this amendment is still under scrutiny.
      Last part of the answer about further steps is good but keep it concise.

      Answer is good, content is fine, your concepts are also clear.
      Intro is good.
      In features also mention about article 16(6)..about public employment.
      Arguments in favour and against are also fine.
      While writing about arbit limit of 8 lpa, you can mention that same applies for OBCs too although they are additionally socially backward.
      Arguments of Nehru and Ambedkar are good..reservation was meant to correct historical injustice and not for poverty alleviation initially..you can mention this.
      Further before concluding, mention some other steps which can be taken for poverty alleviation,
