Next, write how the revolt started off as a mere military mutiny- you can say that the events were pretty localized in nature, there was no centralized leader during the initial phases of the revolt and it was limited mainly to military cantonments with very less involvement of peasants, civilians and local leaders.
After that, mention some causes for the changed character of the revolt.
Short term causes can be disgruntled landlords who became leaders of the revolt and Lord Dalhousie’s annexation policy.
Long term causes can be economic and other socio-religious grievances.

In next part, you have just mentioned that it got air and turned into national movement. Mention some reasons for that.
