Examine the salient features of the Indian independence Act (1947) relating to the transfer of power.10 marks

Mentor’s comment-

  • Write introductory lines on why and what led to passage of Act.
  • In the body write important provisions which are related to transfer of power. For instance it ended the British rule in India and declared India as an independent and sovereign state from August 15, 1947.
  • Conclude with optimistic lines that Independence Act of 1947 represents sacrifice and struggle of national leaders, peasants, women and children. It was a hard earned gift given to us by our freedom forefathers.

      Hi Surya
      Good introduction.
You have discussed the salient features in a decent manner.
After the salient features, give a heading and write about the Evaluation of the features of act. For example – Hastened act:the lack of clarity on the border still has its repercussions today with constant.
      Good conclusion.
      Overall a good attempt.
      Keep working hard.
tussle between India and Pakistan. The same is the case with border on Chinese side.
