  • In the body, mention the important role of public enterprises as mentioned in Economic Survey 2019-20 to become a $5 trillion economy. In the next part, mention the primary reasons for the failure of public sector enterprises such as cost overruns, lack of optimum input-output ratio, reluctance to implement the labour reforms etc.
  • In the suggestions mention government initiatives such Gati Shakti National Master Plan, revamping of governance structure as suggested in Economic Survey, protection from unfair business practices etc.
  • Conclude by mentioning implementations of suggestions to strengthen the PSUs.

Decent attempt. You have mentioned some good points, structure of the answer is fine.
Intro is okay, mention some data points for better impact, 6 trillion expected to be raised can be mentioned.
Next part is good, however, we need to stick to identifying problems in PSEs and solving them, privatisation/disinvestment need not be mentioned here.. As that is what thr question says.. Disinvestment is not the panacea.. So talk about all thr other issues.
You can mention, lack of optimum input-output ratio that is overcapitalisation, labor reforms not implemented etc. Rest other points are good.
Again in suggestions point no 1 can be avoided, talk about recent Gati Shakti master plan, revamping performance management, prevent unfair business practices such as dumping, boost domestic production of steel etc
      Conclusion is fine.
      Keep practicing. 🙂

NMP is not for making PSEs efficient but basically for leasing core assets with expectations to raise around 6 trillion in 4 years.. Introduction can be better framed, mention figures for more impact.
Next part about importance is good.
In problems also, some good points have been mentioned. In last point, you can mention overcapitalisation that is lack of optimum input-output ratio. Other points such as unfair business practices such as dumping of steel, non-implementation of labor reforms etc can also be mentioned.
Suggestions are also fine, Gati Shakti can be elaborated a bit, also you can mention initiatives under Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan to boost domestic production of steel etc
      Conclusion is fine.
      Keep practicing.

      4.5/10
